To do or not to do?

Like it or not, I have to do my PhD. Inevitable consequence of switching career to the academic line. Being the ever-so-accepting and adaptable person, I am resigned to it. Hence the birth of this blog. I guess this will be my small space on the Internet for me to share my PhD journey.

I wished i got a string of PhDs, but i do not even have an 'A' levels from high school.

I have spent thousands into courses in spots along my adult life but still can't finish the journey. I think it is meant to make one suffer. Not sure if it is necessary. So that you be called a doctor?

I have met many such doctors, and they do not really impress me as well as they do to others. In fact, i got the habit of been critical of them even more. Call it spite.

Thank u for your comment at my blog. But my answer here is not repayment, it is just such a topic about PhD is intriguing. Call it jealousy.

"To Do Or Not To Do?" - well workingmom, if u say you have no choice but to do it, then really there's no two ways about it. You've GOT to do it. ;)

Good Luck on your PhD journey. I'm sure you'll do just fine. You're in what line btw?

Wish I have something or someone to 'push' me to further my studies. Lazy ol' me is pretty contented with my degree. I can't imagine myself going back to school! ;)

aloo guy and gals, so sorry for not replying to all your comments, very remiss of me! Have not checked this blog since that very first post! Sorry!

red1: thanks for visiting my blog :) And in response to your comment.. Am definitely not doing the PhD for the cert or the doctor title, even if i complete it, dun think i'd call myself dr or want people to do so. i certainly dun think a string of certs would measure a person's knowledge/success/worth. As for being impressive, flowers and choc would do the trick, definitely not doctors ;)

I am doing this coz I think deep down I agreed to go into the academic line mostly because of the opportunity of doing research and not so much the lecturing part. Digging for info, trying out new stuff, there's some sort of novelty there. I used to work as an IT admin and I got so bored with the work culture & environment as well as with the work itself. I was in a rut! So PhD, here I come. And to answer Mami-oh-Mummy's question, I'll be doing it full time this 1st April :) So, mami-oh-mummy, not yet but I will, I will :)

Flowerin: thanks, i'll definitely need all the good luck :) I'll be researching in the image indexing and retrieval area, in other word, a search engine for images. If I produce good work, I could even sell my work to Google .. ha ha ha, talk about wishful thinking!
